What Is 3D Biomechanics?

3-D analysis goes beyond isolating movement on three axes — up and down, left to right, front to back. Instead, it addresses complete rotation around these axes simultaneously. Imagine shooting a lacrosse ball inside a bubble, with the entire spherical surface supplying simultaneous, high-speed photography. Hundreds of images per second measure the lacrosse shooter's body positions, joint angels, speed and body segment timing. This complete picture gives us the information necessary to teach and train for optimal performance on the field.

Athletic Edge Lacrosse understood why this data was critical to advancing the game. And that's why we set out to study some of the best players in the world to create an objective, scientific baseline for coaches, trainers and players alike. No theories, no assumptions, just facts. A photo-finish that allows coaches, trainers and players to understand what it takes to win.
