Joe Walters was the number 1 overall pick in the 2006 Major League Lacrosse draft and this year's Major League Lacrosse Championship MVP. An MLL All-Star, he is currently playing on the MLL's Rochester Rattlers and the National Lacrosse League's Rochester Knighthawks. While at the University of Maryland, he was a four-time All-American and the all-time leading point scorer in the school's history. In 2003, he was the ACC Rookie of The Year. Then, in 2004, he was the ACC Player of The Year. Walters won the 2006 Jack Turnbull Memorial Award as the nation's top Attackman and was a finalist for the Tewaarton Trophy for the nation's top player. He is one of only two players in ACC history, along with Matt Danowski, to earn the Rookie of the Year Award, Player of the Year Award, and Tournament MVP. | ![]() |
Walters played on the 2006 Team USA in The World Championships, being the only college player to make the team. He is on staff at both STX and Nike Lacrosse, in addition to co-owning Run-n-Gun Lacrosse Camps with Kyle Harrison. A shooting artist in the game, he also has his own shooting academy, called Sharp Shooters Lacrosse. |
