Corrective Exercise-An exercise designed to correct or eliminate a physical limitation that is negatively impacting performance, or potentially leaving the athlete vulnerable to injury.
Kinetic Linking- Kinetic energy is the energy of motion. In the body this energy can be transferred from one body segment to the next via the muscular system. That energy will remain constant unless acted upon. If that energy is transferred from one body part to the next with the subsequent one being lighter than the previous it will pick up velocity with speed being summated from heaviest to lightest.
Torque- Can be thought of as a twisting force around an axis.
Force- is whatever can cause an object with mass to accelerate. Usually a push or pull.
Lacrosse Sequencing- is the the summating of speed through the body from the ground up with peak velocity occurring in this order pelvis, thorax, arms, stick
Physical Screen- Is a series of physical tests to evaluate physical abilities to perform various movements
Mobility- Is the same as Range of Motion, or the ability of the body to move its parts in an optimal fashion based on the structure.
Stability- The ability to maintain position or posture while forces are being applied. Resistant to change.
Pelvis- Is the bony structure located at the base of the spine made up the three bones the ilium, ishium and pubis.
Torso- Also referred to as the Trunk or Core is what would be left over if the head, arms and legs were removed from the body
Thorax- The region of the body formed by the sternum, the thoracic vertebrae and the ribs, does not include the limbs. The area between the head and abdomen.
Strength- The maximal force a muscle or group of muscles can exert at any given time regardless of time.
Power- Strength X Speed=Power
Velocity- Is speed with a direction
